The young victim is only fourteen years old. She was apparently kidnapped and raped twice by a group of individuals in two days. According to the information offered to the police, the teenager was persuaded by a 22-year-old boy to leave his home in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh state, and took her on a motorcycle to the home of a friend of 24 years, where she was raped. between the two men.
That night the minor was held hostage in said house and was released the next morning by her captors. However, while walking down the street on her way home, she was intercepted by three other men, who apparently are between 21 and 23 years old, who took her back to the same house, where they raped her once more. Immediately the parents of the teenager denounced the disappearance of the house before the corresponding authorities.
The police immediately mounted a search and she was located in a state of disorientation. The young woman told what happened to her parents who immediately formalized a denouncement to the authorities. After knowing what had happened, the agents located and arrested the delinquents, who are charged with the crimes of gang rape, intimidation, kidnapping and sexual crimes against a minor.
The reaction of the population has been immediate because the case shows once again the serious problem of sexual violence that India is experiencing. It is worth noting that the Asian country is considered the most dangerous for women due to the high risk they have of suffering sexual assaults.
Unfortunately, in India sexual assault is a recurring theme and motive of social struggle, after the case of the gang rape of a university student in 2012. Despite the attempts of the government to increase the penalties to this crime, in the Asian country the number of violations reported increased 50 percent between 2011 and 2016.
